Dustbiters: Pocket Edition

Two rival car gangs race to outrun a giant dust storm!

During a turn the player has 3 actions that can be spent in several ways, each costing one action:
- Draw a new car into your hand.
- Place a new car at the front of the convoy.
- Drive a car one space forward or one space backward.
- Use a car power. Each car is unique, has different abilities, and affects the cars around it in different ways.

But beware, at the end of each turn the car at the back is destroyed by the dust storm!

Dustbiters: Pocket Edition is a streamlined, 18-card wallet version of one of our favorite tiny games, Dustbiters, made in partnership with creators Robbie Fraser, Jan Willem Nijman, and Terri Vellmann. The Pocket Edition includes the same mechanics and artwork as the original with a few small changes. 3 cards from the original game have been removed (so the Pocket Edition wallet includes 18 cards) to form the Reinforcements expansion, and the hand size is reduced when playing without that expansion. If you combine the game and expansion, you will have the same exact game as the original boxed release, except for it comes in our signature portable vinyl wallet.

Racing two car gangs against a dust storm sounded gimmicky until we actually played it — spending your three actions to draw cars or place them gets tense fast when the storm's closing in. Pocket edition fits in my jacket, so it's come to every bar night since.

The action-point system is such a clever twist—spending just three actions per turn keeps everyone locked in without dragging between rounds. My group was hooked the moment we realized drawing a new car could be a bluff or a lifesaver.

Got this for our weekly game night and the 3-actions-per-turn rule keeps everyone on edge—you're always weighing whether to grab another car or push your position, and the dust storm timer makes even simple turns feel urgent. It’s surprisingly tense for such a small box.
